        How to find a mortgage 
        (the sometimes uncertain way!)

        When you look for a mortgage, you have many ways to find a mortgage. 
        • Just contact your existing lender for a new deal
        • Walk down the high street and see as many banks as you can
        • Use a mortgage broker
        • Use the internet
        • Find rates in papers

        Why are there so many ways still around? Surely there must be one best way? What are the downsides of the above?

        • Existing lender - you will miss out on all the other deals! However, you may want to retain your existing rate and deal
        • Walk the high street - hard work and every credit check you have could reduce your credit rating
        • Mortgage broker - we have a dedicated page on this, but they often charge high fees or can be restricted to a 'lender panel' - i.e. not the whole market.
        • Internet - many deals can be missing, and you often have to speak to a broker in any event
        • Papers - not as up to date as brokers or the internet, and can also miss out deals

        How to find the best deal

        We have taken the best ways of finding a mortgage to save you a lot of time, uncertainty and to ensure you really are getting the best deal. We charge a small fee to find you the best deal from EVERY available lender. We are totally unbiased because we do not rely on commission income to make our money. We work for you and will look at deals that many other ways can not find or refuse to show you.

        Here's how it works:

        • We are able to check the same rate information that the FSA receives daily
        • This includes deals or lenders that do not deal with mortgage brokers, or that pay them commission
        • We take your key information to provide you with a top 10 (or more if required) list of rates and deals
        • We can also take out lenders that will not lend to you based on your situation, but we will tell you why and how we have done this, in case your situation changes
        • If the best deal is a direct only deal, we will help you put an application together, and tell you your next steps
        • If the best deal is a broker deal, we can show you how to find the right broker, and can negotiate with them to get our fees REFUNDED!
